Event Details

On June 24, the Petaluma High team will head to Louisville, Kentucky for the 55th annual National  Leadership and Skills Conference (NLSC), a showcase of career and technical education students. More than 18,000 people — including students, teachers, and business partners — are expected to participate in the weeklong event. Petaluma’s SkillsUSA team will be the State’s representative and will compete in several areas including Job Interview, Prepared Speech, Technical Drafting, Automated Manufacturing and Broadcast News Production; coached by Team Adviser Chris Jones. Jones has led the team for the last 10 years and currently teaches Engineering Design and Manufacturing, Architecture, 3D Animation and Yearbook at Petaluma High

To help the students kickstart their campaign, Petaluma’s Keller Street CoWork will host the team on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 from 5:00 to 6:00 pm where the greater Petaluma community is invited to meet the team and watch their winning video submission. Additional donations can also be made by contacting Elece Hempel at the Petaluma People Services at elece@petalumapeople.org.
